We generally accept the following types of waste at our facilities
Construction / demolition waste:
Waste materials generated by construction activities such as:
- Dimensional lumber, siding, roofing
- Demolition debris that results from removing a building from a work site
- Bricks, concrete, cinder blocks and asphalt
Household / Municipal waste
- Household refuse in bags or loose in containers
- Electronic equipment (including computers)
- Scrap metal and metal appliances
- Solid waste
- Discarded household furniture
Commercial and industrial waste
Waste materials from commercial and industrial operations such as:
- Waste from any buildings occupied by a factory or industry
- Materials discarded from commercial garages and institutional facilities
- Unwanted material produced or eliminated from industrial operations
Prohibited Waste
Items that cannot be accepted at the transfer station are:
- Chemicals or hazardous materials
- Fuels, liquids, lubricants
- Pesticides
- Solvents, sewage sludge
- Tires
Multi-material recycling
- Metal Food Containers (please rinse cans, remove labels, place lid inside cans & flatten)
- Mixed Papers – Newspapers, catalogues, magazines, glossy flyers, office paper, phone books, envelopes
- Cardboard material including boxes and packaging
- Plastic bottles and jugs
Scrap metal recycling
- Appliances and parts such as stoves, hot water tanks, dishwashers, washers, dryers
- Metal roofing and siding
- Household scrap including lawn mowers, bike frames
Prohibited items
- Refrigeration type appliances
- Mercury switches
